The Story of Crossed Sabers Coffee

Crossed Sabers Coffee was born from a blend of camaraderie, creativity, and the enduring spirit of those who serve. The journey began in 2011, during my deployment to Iraq. Amid the challenges and chaos of war, there was a nightly ritual that brought a sense of normalcy and comfort to a few of us: brewing coffee. Almost every night, a small group of fellow soldiers and I would gather, brewing pot after pot of coffee under the desert sky. As we sipped our makeshift brews, we would let our imaginations run wild, coming up with crazy coffee names and dreaming of one day opening our own coffee shop.

After leaving the Army, the dream of creating a coffee brand stayed with me, always simmering in the back of my mind. However, as life often does, it got busy. Between work, family, and the daily grind, there never seemed to be the right time to pursue that dream. It remained a cherished but distant idea, overshadowed by the demands of everyday life.

Then, in 2020, the world changed. The COVID-19 pandemic brought life to a standstill, and for the first time in years, I found myself with the time to reflect and re-evaluate my priorities. With the slower pace of life, the opportunity to rekindle my passion for coffee emerged. I began working on designs, perfecting coffee names, and diving deep into the world of specialty-grade coffee sourcing.

Thus, Crossed Sabers Coffee was born. As a veteran-owned business, we are committed to honoring the quality and specialty-grade of our beans, focusing on the art of coffee rather than mass production. Our mission is not to be on every shelf in every store but to provide a superior coffee experience that reflects the dedication and excellence instilled in us through our service.
